Current Course Description: This sequence of courses will help students refine writing and speaking skills. A study of the French sound system will address individual students difficulties. Prerequisite: FR 203 prerequisite for FR 301; FR 301 prerequisite for FR 302; FR 302 prerequisite for FR 303

New Course Description: FR 302 develops skills with discussion and presentations about increasingly complex themes, linked to in-depth cultural focus via multiple media forms. Grammar reviews adverbs and adjectives, comparatives and superlatives, object pronouns, and negative expressions, as well as passive voice and levels of formality. This class introduces French phonetics, studying the phonetic alphabet and transcribing French sentences as well as looking at sentence divisions, syllables, intonation, etc. Students continue to reinforce the vocabulary they already know and decide what to add to their personal vocabulary list. Prerequisite: FR 301 or instructor permission.
