Catalog Description:
This course integrates current research and approaches to teaching mathematics by implementing models of teacher-conducted action research. Participants must demonstrate proficiency with the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators Standards for Elementary Mathematics Specialists. Prerequisite: This should be one of the last courses taken in the Elementary Mathematics Instructional Leader program. This course must be taken concurrently with, or after, ED 673: Elementary Mathematics Leadership Practicum I.

Faculty and facilities needed:
For our complete EMIL program, the Division of Teacher Education intends to offer three (two new) 3-credit 600 level hybrid courses during each academic year. NTT faculty will be used to teach the 6 new credits per academic year of lower level coursework tenure track faculty teaching the EMIL courses would have taught. Our team will take advantage of the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Moodle Support Team as we implement the offering of our new courses. We will be able to use existing Division of Teacher Education facilities for the three to five class meetings per term per class that we have on campus.
