Catalog Description: This course will provide an overview of past and contemporary methods of teaching English to speakers of other languages and the relationship between methodological trends, theories of language learning and the contexts of teaching. Prerequisites: LING 210 and LING 315. |
Course Goal and Objectives: The goals of the class include the theoretical and practical applications of linguistic knowledge to instruction in beginning, intermediate and advanced reading, writing, speaking and listening instruction (including pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar teaching and English for special/applied purposes in both adult ESL and a range of EFL situations. |
