Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): Provides an additional opportunity for students to develop writing skills in an upper division anthropology course. |

Students/Program affected: Will benefit Anthropology majors and minors, Gender Studies minors, and students in other programs who take this course as an elective. Will be especially helpful to Anthropology majors electing the new non-thesis BA/BS option who will not be taking ANTH 410W and ANTH 412W, which would otherwise have supplied their two W courses. |
