FR 200 | Basic French Conversation | 1 - |
Abbreviation for Class Schedule(20 spaces) Basic French Conv |
Catalog Description: Conversation practice in the French language, designed for students in the earlier stages of learning the language. Focus on everyday use of language, talking about self, family, activities and daily events. Can be repeated. Pre-requisite: FR 101 or higher, or consent of instructor. P/N only. |
Course Goal and Objectives: To offer students the opportunity for extended oral/aural language practice to develop fluency. |
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.): This course parallels a higher-level conversation section (FR 300), but focusing on more elementary skills, grammar, and vocabulary. The conversation practice supplements the learning in the 4-credit courses, which offer more limited speaking opportunities for each student. This course was piloted in 2009-10 on a temporary basis and worked well. |
