Catalog Description:
A continuation of study in Musical Theatre performance with emphasis on lyric study, characterization, storytelling and song mapping.
Course Goal and Objectives:
At the end of this course, students will: 1)Understand the structure and variations of lyrics and libretto 2)Understand the unique storytelling techniques of Musical Theatre 3)Understand tools for creating strong characters 4)Be proficient at character and song mapping
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
The course will be part of a new emphasis area (if approved) in Musical Theatre within the existing Theatre B.A./B.S. degree.
