Abbreviation for Class Schedule(20 spaces)
StEuroLit: [topic]

Current Course Description:
A study of special issues and topics in world literature, such as continental, francophone, etc. Specific focus will be identified in each year¿s schedule of classes. May be taken twice if content is not repeated. Prerequisites: ENG 218 and one 300-level literature course, or consent of instructor

New Course Description:
A study of special issues and topics related to literatures of continental Europe. Specific focus will be identified in each year¿s schedule of classes. May be taken twice if content is not repeated. Prerequisite: ENG 218 or consent of instructor

Justification for changing the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
We are separating non-Western literatures into a new course, narrowing the focus of this one. Impetus arose from examining and updating the high school teaching major, but also the historical topic offerings of this course. This topic/number aligns with the 340/341 offerings (focused on time periods) in continental European literature.
Students/Program affected:
English major, literature minor, Language Arts teaching major, MS in Ed language arts focus
