Catalog Description:
An introduction to literatures outside the European/US tradition, such as African or Asian. Specific focus will be identified in each year¿s schedule of classes. Pre-requisite: Eng 218 or consent of instructor.
Course Goal and Objectives:
introduce students to literary traditions from outside the US and Europe examine a broad range of literary texts from a specific non-Western tradition each time expand cultural awareness outside the US and Europe
Justification for adding the course (e.g. alignment with other institutions, program revision, etc.):
Add dedicated, regular diversity offerings, especially for English majors and language arts teaching majors
