Hello, here is an update on task #13821 with a 
description of the color printer problems we 
experienced today.

I worked with a patron this morning who could not 
print to the color printer.

    * She could print the same document to other 
printers
    * She tried from two different workstations 
to print to the color printer with no luck
    * She had enough print credits (over 100 and 
she was only printing one page)- although the 
system didn't let her get that far. Immediately 
after choosing the color printer and 
selecting 'print' she would get an error message 
saying there was a problem finding the printer.
    * I checked the color printer queue and there 
were no jobs showing and no message lights 
flashing. Status on the printer display indicated 
ready.
    * I helped the patron by printing her page to 
our staff color printer- she needed to go to 
class and opted not to pursue the matter, 
although I told her there may be a problem with 
her account that needs to be resolved.
    * I was able to log on to the same 
workstation with my account and print a word doc, 
a color photo, and the first page of her document.

Another staff member today wrote:
More problems this morning (2/1/06): a patron got 
an error back on her workstation saying that her 
job could not be printed on the Color printer due 
to one of several problems, including not enough 
memory, etc.
The printer itself appeared to be on, with the 
data light blinking like it was processing 
something, but there is nothing in the print 
queue when I checked it.

NTF...printed two tests without issue.

The color printer in the Library is still broke. 
It is continually getting jobs, the data light is 
on says "processing......"  When they check the 
print Que it is empty. The printer does not 
actually print out anything just acts like it is 
going to.
