UCS is closed during the weekend, so likely
monday. I have class from 8 to 9. If you can
drop off the laptop with the Service Request Desk,
they can get it to the tech in box. If that
doesn't work for you, you can try a drop-by and
wait, but your mileage may vary....

thanks,

Joe

Hi Joe:

All of a sudden, from yesterday, I have a HUGE
problem with all of the MS Office applications
that came with the laptop that I use ....
I am not able to save files. I can't open files.
whenever I want to open or save files the
program--be it Word or Excel--gets stuck. In the
attached screen shots you will see what I
typically see when I try to open/save files in
Word and Excel.... I am able to save/open
documents in the default directory it gives me,
but if I try navigating to any other directory
then the program freezes.

I don't have any such problem with other programs.
It is only with the MS Office.

Yesterday when I plugged my laptop on at work, it
reported after a while that some update had been
completed, and it kept annoying me with rebooting.
It was after rebooting that this problem
surfaced, and I did not think much about it
because I was rushing from meetings to meetings.
But, now I see that this is a hell of a problem ....

Am working from home today. If this is a problem
that you need to see to understand./troubleshoot,
then I will be on campus tomorrow for Preview Day,
from 9:00 to 2:00. Let me know if I should bring
the laptop with me tomorrow. If not, then on
Monday ....
