required a download (not free) to fix... he said
it wasn't a problem since everything else works
and he only uses the contacts and calendar.

He called back in, he is still having some
problems. The notes section isn't synching (this
isn't a big deal he said) but everything else is
synching ok. He said he can live without notes if
fixing it means screwing up everything else.

fixed profile and ran some scans, running
antivirus now too...  he'll call when he gets back
to the office so I can return the machine and work
on the Outlook problem

He called and was wondering what the status was on
his SR. He says - Ronnie was working on it
remotely and was going to leave a message when she
was done.

I tried changing settings. (Chapura, he wants
contacts to sync from Outlook to handheld once). 
Will not complete sync, log is not helpful. 
Couldn't figure out what the problem was.  Might
be just Outlook because it crashed a few times (no
error)
