He's likely not an admin.  I've added him to the
group scc_mac.  Please add that group to the
administrators (I am assuming that this mac is
bound to active directory).

When he tries to create a new folder for the hard 
drive he gets a message: "the untitled folder 
cannot be moved, because the hard drive cannot be 
modified.
