Also this is with many different thumb drives, not
just Lexar's.

Revision: There's a group of workstations that
have this problem. There are still plenty of other
workstations that don't exhibit this problematic
behavior.

This seems to be a problem only with this one
workstation. There are other workstations in the
area that don't have this problem. The thumbdrives
work just fine.

Lexar now sees this as a problem and has an update
that their customers can run at home.  Their fix
involves backing up and formatting.  I'd say
that's best left to home use.  We should have some
signs saying: these machines do no support usb
flash drives in "secure" mode.

Appanrently Shaun was the one that closed this 
task.  He asked me to assign it to joe and they 
will work together in sorting it out.

They have tried different flash drive of 
different makes and get the same result
