The drive needed a firmware update and I had to
use a Roxio tool I found on their website that
fixed some registry keys. 

Everything is working fine now.

4 hours later... still not fixed.  He will be out
tomorrow at noon, and he will leave his office
open.  I will return for more troubleshooting then.
