sent email:There isn't much we can do about it
without being able to see your end of things. 
From the sound of it, the problem may be happening
because of the size of the documents you are
sending.  I will look into this further, in the
meantime, please keep a record of the size of all
attachments sent and whether or not they go
through so we can determine if this is the problem.

Thanks for getting back to me. 
The problem with attachments happens on my work
machine-or any computer that then
connects to my wou email system.
the problem in sending attachments DOES NOT appear
in an error message.
usually what happens is that I send an attachment
and the person to whom it is addressed
contacts me to say that the attachment is blank.
So--there is no error message, and I think
everything is proceeding correctly--it is only
later that
I realize there is a problem.
 
Sometimes when I try to send an email I get an
error message that I took too long writing
the email and that I should close and start over.
 That is very annoying. Luckily it saves in the
sent option  and I can paste it into a new
message.  This error is not connected to the
attachment
issue.
 
Finally, I should add these problems tend to come
and go.  It works, it doesn´t work..etc.
especially this last issue that I mention. 
Lately, I haven´t been able to send any attachments.
 
I should add.....that right now I am working in a
teaching abroad position in our international
exchange program in Valdivia, Chile.  This means,
of course, that while I am not in my office
physically I am still using the email feature
--the Sun message--communications express
program as my  main email server---I am even more
dependent on it´s working properly
because I am off campus--and can´t be there to
oversee everything.

questions I asked... Is this problem with the
laptop you have with you, your work machine, or both?

Also, are you getting an error message? Or does it
appear to work correctly, but simply doesn't
appear in the Sent folder?

What browse/program do you use to get your email?

She will be out of the country teaching in Chile 
for the Fall term and she is hoping to have help 
with this so she could use her e-mail while she 
is away. She is leaving today and so if there are 
any other questions or comments you can e-mail 
her she said.
