It sounds like he may have accidently enabled some
sort of hotkey. He got a message box and thought
he told it "no" but maybe he hit it wrong. He's
not sure what's going on.

When he opens documents he gets a message saying
that it's trying to open 17 files. He's not sure
what he did, but it wasn't doing this earlier. He
finished one sylabus today and now he's getting
these weird problems.
