Hey,

Sorry I hadn't gotten a hold of you two earlier
the first week here was pretty crazy.

The update resolved the issue.

Thanks again for your time and patience,

Hey Jim & Ken,

I will try your update but it will most likely be
in the afternoon. I 'could' be just Word documents
I didn't even think to try moving the text into
word pad...

I'll update then try, if that fails I'll see if it
is just Word documents.

Thanks,

Hi Myron,

I’m looking at this problem along with Ken.

Let’s see if I understand the problem … are you
saying the problem happens only with Word
documents, and only Word documents over a certain
size?

We just placed an update, version 2.197, on our
site that may possibly help. You can download
from http://nextupdownloads.com/files/TA2197.exe

Please try this update when you get a chance and
let me know if it helps.

The Document is on a network share so it could
have been opened by

another person... but it wasn't open by any other
program on the

machine. Small files were able to load fine too,
it was once it was

greater then a certain size the program would freeze.

Yes the system has office 2003 installed and I was
able to open the file

with Microsoft Word.

Hope this helps

Thanks,

Hello Ken,

This is a new computer that has a new problem.

When you try to open a file via any of the following:
Menu: File>Open
Button: Open
Right-click the file etc etc...

When trying to open a word document it freezes the
program and doesn't respond.

This is specific to the machine and I had them use
one of their two other machines in the office.

One thing that was really interesting which may
help you or not, I was testing to see if the file
was corrupt so I copied some of the text to the
windows clip board to put onto a new file.. and I
was able to open the new one... so I then copied
all the text in the documents (about 28 pages)
nothing text aloud can't handle, I notice that you
can just put the text from the clipboard to text
aloud the same text I froze on trying to open...
worked in a flash.

As a work around I am just having him copy the
text from the documents he wishes to have audio
made for to the clipboard then into text aloud.

Thanks,

seems to only happen when he opens a file, copying
to the clipboard works fine...

I called and Terry said he would like it if Myron
worked on this since he's familiar with the software.

The software is freezing the machine whenever he
tries to load text into it. Just freezes the
program, but he can't do anything until the "this
program has failed" dialog box comes up.
