rather than double clicking on the icon.

from the little bit of googling that I did I 
found that SPSS seems to write a file into a temp 
directory somewhere that is not in the Program 
Files/SPSS directory that the user must have RW 
permissions to.  Was not able to find information 
as to where this file is, but that most 
administrators allow the user to operate as 
a "Power User."  I doubt this is the solution 
that we will want.
