It was set to hibernate. Boo, hiss.  I changed 
the settings and he is happy now.  He had 
also "lost" the format he prefers for contacts.  
I directed him to Outlook.  Happy again.

He thought it was set up on power save where it 
would turn on if you touched the keyboard, but 
when that didn't work he tried puching the power 
button on the tower and it just blinked at him. 
He said that he has a meeting at 9a so if he is 
gone the door will be open.
