the program was Windows Defender.  I uninstalled
it and the problem went away.  I told her we could
reinstall it, she didn't seem concerned and
prefers the idea that if she needs it later, she
will call us.

The message says 'Failed to initialize' and comes 
up every time she starts her computer. She clicks 
ok and goes about her business and it seems to 
work fine, but she wants to know if it is 
something she should worry about. 

Also, she has some old floppy disks that she 
wants to get rid of, but they have sensitive 
information on them, so she doesn't want to just 
throw them away. She would like to know if there 
is anything either she or we could do about that.
