The printers will need to be set up as "local"
tcp/ip connections since they don't go through
radar in the library. Find out which printers she
wants to be able to print to and add those
printers for her.

****This is an email****

Camila,

We put a new hard drive in your machine (and still
have the old one in case you need any data
recovered) and I brought it over and set it up
today. We still need to have a tech come by and
set up printers with you so you can tell them
which printers you want to have. Dale will also
have to come by some time next week and set up
Wolf Millenium with you.

Please call us at 88925 or email us at
ucshelpdesk@wou.edu to let us know when we should
come by next week. Please remember to include the
ticket number of 18739 so the person on the
helpdesk can add the info to the ticket.

Thanks,

Mike Orr

Installed all of the software I could. Some of
her list is lib specific. Sent an email to Dale
and Camilla.

Dreamweaver, photoshop and acrobat also need to
be added. The library has licenses for them.

Note Tab is another program she just thought of
that needs to be added.

tried uninstalling Norton, checked for "rogue"
programs, removed old profiles, ran CCleaner,
Spybot S&D, was trying to do Windows updates.
(Feels like I did more, but the machine is soooo
slooooow, or my brain is and I've just forgotten
something)

called, left another vm. I need a list of
programs from her that NEED to be on the machine.
I see a lot of unfamiliar programs and some that
look like spyware. I don't want to uninstall
anything she uses for work so I need the list. I
left my email address as well as the SRLine
number. I will be out from 11-1, but in from 1-3
today.

computer doesn't have Sophos installed... it is
still trying to run Norton anti-virus.

she called back very confused... apparently we
have her machine already. ((oops)) I apologized
for the "error in communication".

called, left vm. Sounds like we could still run
spyware scan, double check that Sophos is up to
date, see if there are any "background" programs
running, etc. Also, check that system memory
isn't set to ridiculously low, if new memory has
been put in, sometimes this doesn't automatically
update in Windows (Right click My Computer,
Properties, Advanced tab, Settings, Advanced, then
the bottom)

Went over, it's running very slowly when you try
to open apps. once apps are open they run at about
normal speed. Also very many CPU usage spikes.
System Idle Process seems to be taking up the most
CPU access.

Deleted most of the old extra profiles, ran
windows updates, no fix.

We may need to just reghost this. Camila said
she's ok with it if we need to do that, but there
is some library specific software we'd need to
reinstall if we go that far. if we can fix it
without ghosting it that'd be nice.

She'd like someone to contact her tomorrow to let
her know what to expect as far as wait time, also
if we have a loaner or something she can use in
the interum if it's a long fix, that'd be great.

She has noticed that it has been getting slower
and slower recently, but today she has been
unable to log in after restarted the machine
multiple times. If the machine does boot to the
login screen, it does not respond to cltr-alt-del
keyboard commands so she can log in.
