They are still haveing problems with this 
machine, the pc says, can not locate floppy 
drive. but there is no floppy drive installed on 
this machine.

replaceable under warranty.

Sounds like the CMOS battery is dying. The
inventory says the machine's under warranty until
2009. Is this something we can have replaced
through that?

They were given the option to continue to 
windows, which they did and it started up 
normaly. After rebooting the machine to see if 
they'd get the message again, they did not.
