Went and installed the new PSU worked fine, booted
machine, let it run for a few minutes, shut down,
no weird noises at all.

Joe, assigned this to you since I wasn't sure what
to do as a next step on this one. Problem's
intermittent and I couldn't isolate the cause of
the noise.

Went up to check it out. I could hear the noise
over the phone when I called her, but when I got
there the system was quiet.

She said that the problem tends to happen every
morning, then eventually go away at some point.

I shut the system down for about 10 minutes and
rebooted, the noise started, but stopped after
about 15 seconds. I had the case open to try and
see what fan was causing the noise, but they both
seemed to be spinning and the noise stopped before
I could check further.

Just to be on the safe side I ran the ctrl-alt-d
hdd diagnostics and the drive passed so I'm still
thinking this is a fan issue.

Since I couldn't replicate the noise problem long
enough to gather any useful data I wasn't sure
what the next step should be on this ticket.
Should we bring it back here to see if we can
replicate the noise? Scavenge a part from another
machine?

Assigning to Joe for direction on the next step.

It has been making that noise for several days. I
could hear it over the phone. She has not been
using the CD/Optical Drive. Windows works fine
otherwise.
