He had acrobat reader 6 installed. uninstalled
that and installed version 8 (newest version)
problem solved.

He made sure that the files are active, but he 
thinks there might be something missing on his 
computer. It looks like it is going to download 
but then it tells him it is done, but nothing 
happened.
