Network cable was plugged into the onboard
Ethernet controller when it should have been
plugged into the pci one.

Roy checked and it certainly is plugged in, and 
the activity and link lights are flashing. They 
will be using this computer for a video 
conference to Russia this afternoon and would 
like this to be looked at ASAP. Windows reports 
limited or no connection as well..
