He has office an office hour at 2, or the office
tech could open his office. She will be back at

called him and jeanne dean. Neither of them
seemed to be in their offices. I left a
voicemail with him to get a time that we can come
over and drop it off.

User called back. The mac mini worked for 20
minutes and crashed again. He made an arrangement
with Telecommunications to get wireless access
for his laptop and so will be doing his work on
that. He doesn't care if the replacement mac mini
is removed or not.

User called back. He is wondering about the
status of this request. He says that he is unable
to get any work done without network access. He
suggested that his personal laptop should be
given wireless network access in the interim. I
told him that he'd want to speak to
Telecommunications about that but he feels he
shouldn't have to pay for access. He'd like
someone from UCS to contact him to discuss his
options. He'll be in his office at 9:30 today,
can be reached before then at 503-347-6267

He wonders if it might be possible to get
internet access for his personal laptop so he can
work on that until his work machine is repaired.

His loaner Mac mini seems to have died. It made
some grinding sounds and turned off, now won't
boot up again.

We're going to set the user up with Bill's Mac
Mini demo for the time being. I'm going to call
the user and see if now's a good time to take this
over to him.

User called back. He is wondering about the
loner. He says that he'd perfer to get wireless
access so he could use his laptop (a mac) instead
of a loner. He does not want to use a PC.

Called, left user vm telling him to use another
computer if he can and that we're working on
finding a loaner for him to use in the meantime.

Went over and checked it out. The system starts up
normally, but then the fans kick into high gear,
it sits for a few minutes, then shuts down. Sounds
like something (CPU?) overheated.

I didn't bring the system back because I wanted to
talk to Joe or Brad about what to give him as a
loaner, but neither of them are in at the moment.

He started it up this morning and it got to the
apple logo boot screen and then restarted itself.
It did this three times without Shaun's
intervention and he has not tried to turn it on
since. He said that yesterday he smelt something
burning and felt the tower and it was "running
quite hot," so he turned it off.
