Called Lori 503-838-8881 and let her know we have
a black print head for her.  Once she receives it,
it can be installed into HL Color printer #3.

Ink cartridge is definitely the issue.  I put 
the problematic cartridge into one of the other 
color printers and got the same "purple" 
problem. I am letting the library know they need 
a new cartridge.

Looks like the black ink reservoir is not 
feeding ink into the black ink cartridge.  I 
swapped out the empty ink cartridge with one 
from one of the other color printers and that 
fixed the problem.

Interesting - I just printed another 
configuration sheet and the problem reoccurred. 
Looks like images print fine, but text does not. 
I will further troubleshoot the problem.

I cannot replicate the problem.  Like Audrey 
said, everyrthing looks A-OK.  A student printed 
to this printer on some professional photo paper 
and the images are flawless.

Kathy called back and said that this printer is 
still printing purple. It says that the black is 
full, and she is aware that it printed in black 
when Audrey looked at it, but it is now printing 
purple again.

It is working fine now. The config sheet prints
black (as do other pages) and the printer
acknowledges all of the cartridges as being
"good". My guess is that the black ink hadn't be
set in quite right and slipped into place or it
took a few jobs for it to start using the new
cartridge. Either way, it's fine now.
