Olin was not in his office when I came, but the
door was ajar. The Mac was stuck at the gray Apple
loading screen and the fans sounded like they were
running at top speed. I did a hard restart and the
machine booted up fine.

We do not have a copy of the Apple Hardware test
for the iMac G5, and so I left a note for Olin to
call and let us know when we can pick it up for
troubleshooting or possible hardware repair.

persists.

Sleep mode was on, so I set it to "Never". I did
software updates and repaired permissions on the HD.

Olin Fortney is deaf, so it is useful to bring pen
and paper to communicate with him when you go to
work on his machine.

Last Week is when it first started, someone from 
UCS came to fix it, but today it happened again. 
He boots up his machine, but gets nothing on 
screen.

Available now til noon. He said its important to 
get this fixed today because he has work that 
needs to be done.
