Angie did not have information about Maintenance
mode for Deepfreeze in her information that she
tells students when they check out a laptop. I
told her that students need to save to their
network drives, or an external drive like a flash
drive, CD, or DVD frequently. Maintenance mode
does give the user 180 seconds to save work (which
is more than enough time) so this shouldn't be too
much of a problem. Angie did say that the student
reported the laptop to be in maintenance mode for
7 hours, but I don't know how accurate that
perspective is.

Obviously there's nothing to be done here.
Students are told that they should save to their
network drives for EXACTLY THIS REASON!

Angie should know better as well.

Ms. Barry also said that there have been about a
dozen other complaints of this problem with this
machine.....

Student "Estelle Forto" has checked out this
computer. She save a huge paper (that was due
today) on the desktop and then the computer went
into the deep freeze maintenance mode. Angie
Barry wants to know what to tell her. The
student will be coming to UCS today to try to
retrieve the file.
