Drew did not need the adapter, but the VGA cable
works fine. I retrieved the adapter.

Drew has gone home for the day (he is a student
worker), but I left a VGA adapter and cable for
him. I will call tomorrow after 11am to check that
he has  the right cable for the monitor he was
wanting to connect to.
