I called Dean and told him that there is no way to
recover a deleted group and to recreate the list.
He was sad and insisted that it was not user error
but a glich in MS Outlook.

He was deleting individual email addresses. He 
did that twice with no problem. Then the third 
time he tried to remove an individual contact 
from the Group list, the whole group was deleted.

Addresses that were deleted are still in address 
book and just not the group list. (Sounds like 
just a user error and he just needs to recreate 
the group?)
