Alex talked to Marlene regarding Metaframe 
and Remote Stand Alone.  Looks like we don't use
either of the two.  Closing the task, as this is
out of our hands from here. Marlene will contact
UCS if anything comes up regarding the issue.

She called back.  Looks like the programmers are
working on this as it is a global issue.  There is
nothing that we can really do here, except for
answering a question or two if they ask.

Marlene called because she needs info from a tech 
to give to DHS...
They asked her whether she was running Metaframe 
and Remote Stand Alone and she says she doesn't 
know what that means so she doesn't know what to 
tell DHS. She kindly asked if someone would 
contact her so she can get that info so she can 
relay that info to them.

Marlene called for "Spikey Hair Tech Brian." She 
wanted to let him know that the Tech for Dept 
Human Services got in touch with her and the 
issue with toolbar and icon being unrecognizeable 
is not just specific to them. Programmer at DHS 
is working on this and it may be until the 1st of 
the year until they have it resolved. She says 
the problem is not related to our network, it is 
global. So you "do not need to be on alert 
anymore."

I will leave it to the tech to close or hold the 
task.

Called Marlene again, since the  EEC techs haven't
called me back.  She said, from her experience,
that it could be days, even weeks before they get
back to us.  I told her to let me know when they
call.

I have contacted the EEC tech support. They said
they will call us back to tackle the issue.

The icons one the EEC database GUI are pixelated
to the point that they are unrecognizable.

I took care of all the print-related issues they
are having. They just needed to know how to set
the default printer.

So there really isn't a problem here, other than
the fact that the individuals there have no
computer skills.  Essentially they needed a
default printer set. They also needed their I:
drive remapped for a user, but that user was not
available.  All the issues they seem to be having
are for a single user, who was not in the office.
 I told them to give us a call back if that user
has any further problems.

TRI tech came over for database manager. She 
advised call here. Not database prob.

Shared computer for student workers. Issues with 
being able to print from Database EEC. Computer 
does not connect to their printer. They don't see 
their printer as option, instead printer option 
says connected to "imagewriter...(?)" She does 
not know what printer, only that it is not 
theirs. She does not know what her correct 
printer name is. Print icon in the database not 
working when clicked on. 

This new comp is from UCS, think might new 
security settings incompatable with database. All 
other technology in office is from Teaching 
Research inst.

Student worker can't work on this computer.
