Nancy Ganson (John's assistant) called in and 
wanted status on task. She called two days ago to 
say that this was a high priority. He is the 
director of Teaching Research and it is nearly 
impossible for him to be working until this task 
gets attention.

Not only is it a political prority, but also he 
is just now working for the first time since he 
has fully lost his sight in one eye. He is having 
a hard time adjusting to his sight loss and the 
sooner we get the new monitor with new settings 
over there, the more smooth his transition to 
blindness may be.

I promised her I would bug you guys (techs) about 
the task. I was hoping to at least get a general 
ETA. I know we generally don't do that, but this 
pulled at my heart strings and I rarely allow 
that to happen when dealing with users. I can 
call her back and let her know.

The TR office specialist made this call.

The monitor is indeed a replacement.
His old monitor is supposed to be taken to Paddi 
Davies in TO 202. Someone has been in contact 
with her (UCS).

This she was not clear on: John's hard drive is 
going to Paddy as well. She seemed unsure on this 
part.

The Director's (John) Office Specialist said that 
this task was high priority because he has become 
blind in one eye and so the monitor he has now is 
not usable. Causing work stoppage.

He requests someone who is familiar with setting 
up tech for special needs (Large fonts, email 
settings...)
