I have found a way to import the address book from
the old machine. This was the most important part
of the migration. There is also a huge queue that
contains all the sent and received documents which
they wanted migrated as well, but I cannot find a
way to do so. They are OK with me not migrating
that part. I am creating another updated image.

The machine is complete, with the exception of
importing the old database to the new machine.
Every time I attempt to restore the old database,
the restore tool crashes and then Ariel will not
even open. Luckily I made an image.....

The Ariel issue has to do with the install
directory differing between the old and new
machine (needs to be the same for the migration
tools) and the drivers for the Ariel scanner. I
ghosted the Ariel machine and reinstalled the
software in the same directory used on the old
machine. This got rid of the directory errors.
The Ariel software also crashed when trying to use
the Ariel scanner. There seems to be a problem
with the TWAIN drivers. I decided to utilize ISIS
drivers instead, which seems to have fixed the
problem. I took the machine back to UCS to create
an ARIEL image.

The Clio issue has been resolved. I forgot to
give the "ariel" MASH account admin privs on the
machine and the Clio software needed to be updated
as well. Once these things were completed Clio
started to function correctly

 Lori:

Sorry to hear about the problems with Ariel.

I'm involved in a priority programming project
this afternoon and won't be able to work with
Ariel again until Thursday morning. Among other
tasks this afternoon, Brian will come over to
pick up the new Ariel CPU and reghost it to a
known good image. He and I will come over
Thursday morning to completely reinstall Ariel
and the accompanying MSDE database. He and I
need to work on this project together.

Unfortunately, the "assertion failed" error
indicates major problems with the MSDE database.
When we moved the address book, we had a problem
where we had installed Ariel between the old and
new machines. I won't go into those details
here, but we believe this is causing the error
message and feel that a complete reinstallation
of Ariel is the best course of action.

We can discuss the issues with Clio when we come
over in the morning.

Thanks,

-Dale

Good morning,
We are now having Ariel and Clio issues on the
new Ariel computer #20070148[Edit Inv].
Ariel:
when we attempt to send an Ariel we receive the
error message:
Assertion failed!
Program: C:\Ariel\WinAriel.exe
File: C:\WinAriel\Source\Scanner.cpp
Line: 174
Expression: false
For information on how your program can cause an
assertion failure, see the Visual C++
documentation on asserts
(Press Retry to debug the application - JIT must
be enabled)

Clio:
We are not able to run Clio on the Ariel computer
(but we are able to run CLIO on the older
computers :-)).

Help please.
Thank you,
Lori D
