Hi Karen,

I ran a memory stress test on your machine. It did not find any
errors in the RAM hardware. I tested your RAM myself by
opening 12 different programs all at once and then making an
automated numerical list in Microsoft Word. Again, no errors. I
did change a setting that will optimize your RAM better, and
could avoid the problem you encounter. The next step is to
reimage the computer, which means removing everything and
starting over with a new installation of Windows, Microsoft
Office, and everything else. Hopefully the RAM optimization I
did will eliminate the issue so that we don't have to reimage!

Please shoot me an email if the error comes up again or call the
service request desk at 88925 and reference service request
23976.

Thank you,
Audrey Sundkvist

I am running memtest on Karen's machine. After an hour of running
it should detect most errors. If there are no errors I will reinstall
Microsoft Office.

I saw Karen in the hallway while on another task at NS and she said
this issue is sporadic, but a big issue when it happens. I told her I'd
look into the issue more and she said she'd try to see if it is
specific documents or random. It might be a RAM issue.

Called back and says that she is still having the
same problem. Said maybe because of the updates
that were made.
Says she is available until 3:30pm.

In word when she places a number, and then hits
enter, word usually fills in the number
automatically for you, but as soon as she hits
enter, it shuts down word.

It doesn't seem to be a specific document, just
whenever she uses word.

she is available all day til 3pm
