Looks like the software will be installed on
instructor PC's, and they will use remote
desktop to access it for instruction in order to
comply with license requirements.

TI does not support this software in a network
environment, as it requires activation, and can
only be activated 2 times before it locks out.
Activation is tied to a specific computer. Will
do more research.

So he is putting the media for TI Smartview
Emulator in a box by his office door in AA204.
We need to test it on the terminal server to see
if it would function for Faculty only(he does not
want students to have access) for demonstration
purposes on Smart Classroom Instructor Stations.
They have enough "points earned" through TI to
get 2 licenses of the software but with the new
building and classrooms they may need it for 4
different classroom locations and possibly used
by two instructors simultaneously. I told him we
would want to test it first and then get back
with him.

****This is an email****
Scott,

I received a Service Request(#24333) regarding
questions about the purchase and install of TI
Software.
I tried to find "TRSmartScreen" or "TI
SmartScreen" but the closest I came to finding
TI Software that your are asking about is TI
SmartView Emulator(see link below).\
http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/p
roductDetail/us_smartview.html
Is this what you are looking for? If not can you
send me a link to the title you are interested in
getting.

TI-SmartView emulator $159.95 from Academic
SuperStore for a single copy

On the license quantity side of things I have a
few questions to clarify what you are looking to
do. Is this going to be used by multiple
faculty? Is it going to be used in classroom
(Smart Classroom Instructor Station) only by a
faculty member as part of a class demonstration?
Will the use be one at at time or you looking to
give them simultaneous use(2 classes in different
rooms at the same time). Do you need to be able
to access the software from other stations
(faculty Office)?
I will have to contact TI to get information on
how this software would work on a terminal server
environment, but I wanted to make sure I
understood all your needs before I do that.

software from TI
need to put on terminal servers for instructors
use only.

probably only need one license, but need to find
out.

need to access from smart stations and computers,
only by instructors

Need to talk with someone about how to make sure
this goes smoothly.

questions:
where to install it
how many licenses do we need.

Timeframe: will take 6-8 weeks to get order.
Would like to talk with someone at UCS first,
then can figure out how many licenses to order.
