Unplugged the fan from motherboard.  Inspected fan
and it appeared to be OK.  Plugged it back in,
turned machine on, let it run for a while.  Seems
to be OK.  If it happens again, we'll get the fan
replaced under warranty.

The machine is located on main floor by the west 
windows, in the reference area. They have it 
labeled REF 35.

It just went down today and it is displaying 
error message: Failed CPU Fan
