Called and left a VM saying he'd need to bring the laptop to 
campus and to call us to tell us when he can come.

This laptop is a Student Tech owned laptop. It is made for 
STUDENT use (not professors off campus), but it's not my job to 
explain that for him. The laptop is from the cart they keep in the 
ED building. All I did was update it and then have him sign into 
it when he came on campus to pick it up. The Mac should allow 
him to login locally with his network name as password even 
when he is not on the network. I did not set up a local 
name/password for him; Adam W said not to since this laptop is 
for on campus student use. Yes it has built in WIFI.

There was a little confusion on his part.  He 
said that we gave him the wrong cable.  He needs 
a phone cable not a yellow cable.  After many 
questions he admitted that he really wanted to 
use wireless and that he thought that was what 
Audrey had setup and what they tested before he 
left campus.

He is logging in with mountar and a new password 
he created with account lookup before he left 
campus.  He was able to successfully log into 
the computer with these before he left campus.

I told him he'll need a network connection if he
doesn't have the account and password that Audrey
probably gave him. I'm assuming that she gave him
a local account and told him to use that but he is
probably trying to use his remote account and it
can't contact the MASH domain to authenticate his
login. I told him to call back even if it works.
This will only work if the laptop is bound to the
domain which I'm assuming it is.

the phone to me. Did not know what he was trying

Says audrey set up a laptop for him to use while 
he is out of town. He is out of town for one 
month. Says he cannot get into the system, says 
the laptop asks for his username and password and 
says when he types his password and username and 
clicks enter the screen vibrates and does not let 
him into his account. Says he needs to get into 
his account to be able to contact with his 
student workers here at wou. 

Mentioned something about a password that was 
given to him and username. I'm not sure what he 
was talking about. But when he uses his password 
and username doesn't let him in. Also wants to 
know whether it has a built in wi-fi card?
