It ended up that her machine will boot. I swapped
the hard drives on the machines and it booted
fine. So I reinstalled the old hard drive and it
booted fine. I noticed a lot of dust, so I gave
the machine a dusting. It was probably overheating
and the dust caused an issue with the boot
sequence. I told her to save her stuff to her h:\
drive so that she won't lose any data if something
does fail.

She said her computer overheated yesterday so she 
turned it off, but today when she tries to turn 
it on she can hear the computer starting (ie fans 
and lights) but the monitor will not.
