Ingrid, are you still having trouble logging onto
the network? Are you on campus this summer?
Please let us know the status of this so we can
update the task accordingly.

Thanks,

Ron sent this to Brian and myself. Just FYI
As you probably already know, there is cron job
that runs every three minutes and changes
people's domain passwords after they go through
Account Lookup. What you may not know is that
this script also tries to change people's blog
passwords as well. Recently I changed the root
password of the MySQL database on which the blog
server runs, and this caused the cron job to
fail because it was trying to connect to that
database as root, using the old password.
I've changed the cron script so that it logs in
as the blog server user (which it what I thought
it was doing in the first place) and doesn't
quit if it can't get a good MySQL connection.
Once I changed that, all the password changes
that were queued up in the past few days ran at
once.
Matthew Fescen-whatever-it-was was one of the
people whose password ran, as was Howard White,
along with about 20 others. There may be a
problem if any of them later had their windows
passwords changed manually to something
different than what they entered in Account
Lookup; the Account Lookup password would have
overwritten that manual one when the script
finally ran correctly. Brian, you had mentioned
having to change a couple of people's passwords
by hand, and Joan, I'm including you in this so
you'll know what's up if anyone complains about
their network password not working.
I can provide a list of these users if you need
it.----Ron

adamsi
is that username she tries.

She called and said that she tried a different
machine and still got the same thing.

She also mentioned that she can check her email
from home with that username/pass just fine. She
did it over the weekend.

She called again and said that she cannot log
into the network again today. It might be that
specific machine she says.

She CAN log into her email from home. but cannot
log into the network with that same username/pass
