I went by there and there was an instance of
Firefox running but it wasn't showing up in the
current side of the dock. When you clicked the
Firefox icon it showed it. It has twenty blank
tabs in it... I closed it and quit the instance. I
was able to open Firefox normally after that.

When he brings up firefox, nothing happens on the 
MAC

I asked him to try SAFARI and that seems to be 
working fine.

This was a replacement machine he was given after
his older one crashed on him. I asked him to try
both browsers and checked the connections.
