Hi,

Thanks for fixing the noise, but now I keep
getting a "General Notification" saying
"A cooling device has exceeded a non-critical
threshold. Contact your Help Desk or Dell
Technical Support for further assistance."

Blew out his computer and swapped the CPU fan with
the parts 280 we have in the office. Perfectly
quiet.

User defragged drive on his own, and problem seems
better. Need a tech to work with him on picking
up his PC and blowing the dust out and checking
for failed fans, etc.

Hi,

The computer in my office in Todd Hall room 333
(computer number 20040684) has started to make
annoying noises. For the first few minutes after
I start it up, it sounds like an airplane taking
off, and then sometimes it sounds like someone
holding the end of a four foot long wire with a
weight at one end and spinning it around faster
and faster until it becomes an insane high-
pitched whir that finally stops. Well, that may
be a little overly dramatic. Can someone come
open it up and give it a spring cleaning or
something? Aside from the sound effects it works
fine.

Thanks
