His CAT-5 cable was only halfway plugged into the
wall jack, which caused very slow/no connection,
but enough to get an IP.

He will be in most of the day today.

When he starts up his machine and after he logs 
in, he keeps getting stuck at the applying 
computer settings window.

He has restarted a couple times and everytime it 
brings him to this.
