David,

I missed your email Thursday afternoon and was out
Friday all day. What time to you teach today? I
could try to meet then.

Hi Audrey, I just called UCS to report that the
fonts did not seem to be recognized by my
powerpoint presentation. Could we meet in HSS 331
tomorrow at 12:30? I teach in that room at 1:00.

I uninstalled and reinstalled them and found them
in PowerPoint. (I hadn't checked to see if it was
in PowerPoint last time: my mistake.)

I have set-up the fonts on the computer in HSS331.
We can access any C: drive on campus remotely if
we have the name information for the computer,
which we can get from the WOU#. Also, we use WOU#s
to track computers' "health" overtime, which is
can be helpful as well. When you call with a
service problem the WOU# of the troubled computer,
printer, or monitor is very helpful.

Thank you for your patience,

Hello Dr. Hargreaves,

I understand you're concerned about the fonts task
for HSS 331. University Computing Services has
been extremely busy as a whole with end of the
spring term and beginning of summer classes/events
on campus. Special tasks have been occupying all
of us as of late, and I am sorry for the delay
this has caused you. Since I was not given the
WOU# from the computer in the classroom I have to
visit it in person, which means waiting for it not
to be in use by a class. This slows things down.
If I'd had the WOU# the fonts could have been
installed remotely without disruption to classes
using the computer.

As of now I have the fonts from your computer and
plan to move them to the HSS 331 computer tomorrow
morning by 9am. I am sorry for any inconvenience
this has caused you or your classes. As much
advance notice as possible always helps to ensure
a task like this gets done before you need it.
WOU#s, which are on a white and black sticker and
have 8 digits (normally starting with 200) really
help tasks as well.

Thank you,

--

He would appreciate an email on the status. Was
the touch panel turned on? You do have to select
the computer in that room. He was very cranky.
He feels like this is taking forever. I tried
expalining and I told him you had tried several
things already. He didn't hear very well.

20050288[Edit Inv] is the HSS331 machine.

It is connected to the monitor via VGA and the
monitor acts like it has a connection to it's
Analog signal. The computer sounds like it is
turning on fine, but the screen is black on the
monitor.

That room is available at 11:30 according to room
scheduler. I went by there and a class was there.
I will try again at noon.

David just called and said that he needs certain
fonts loaded on the computer located in HSS 331
(He did not have the WOU # for this computer).

The fonts are located on the desktop of his
computer (20030653) in a folder
called "Linguistic Fonts".

He would like this done fairly quickly. He can be
reached in the mornings from 8:30-10 and in the
afternoons from 3-4 M-F.
