Dr. Sil emailed the following:

March 13, 2009

Dear Ms Hutchinson:

Thank you for your mail. Fortunately, the virus
problem apparently has either self-destructed or
self-cured itself. My computer seems to work
just fine at the moment. Nevertheless, I
appreciate your attention very much.

Dr. Sil

Emailed the following today:

Hi Dr. Sil,

We were going through our list of tasks in
University Computing and noticed that we had an
older request for you from August 2008 for
regarding a "virus warning". We were checking
with you to see if this still needed attention or
if we could close out this request.

Thanks so much!

Assigning this to you Rebecca, because you're the
one looking for a solution. Check with Dr. Sil to
see if this is coming up again or not.

with was the 2009 version that I had not seen
before. I hit the cancel button and it want me
save an executable. I hit the cancel button enough
times and it went away. Brain Berkley said it will
probably come back and we are currently searching
for new method to get rid of this with out re-imaging.

He was using IE and surfing when he got the error
message from Sophos that a virus was detected. He
hit ignore (instead of delete all) when given an
option.

He plans to continue using his computer until
someone can assist him.

Times: in until 5pm. Other than that, can call
ahead.
