I reimaged, delivered, and resetup Brian's
machine. He's in the process of copying over a
backup of his old Outlook files. I said I'd check
in with him after class.

Patty Johnson's computer, currently has 2 
computers and he is using one until he gets his 
back. Patty Johnson also needs admin rights.

I spoke with Brian Johnson and he stressed the
following on what he needs on his machine if we
need to reimage it:

1. Do nothing to the D drive; he's used it to
backup files since he has no network access at
this time.

2. Make sure he had admin rights. He says he "had
admin rights a month ago and doesn't now," but he
would like to have them.

3. He wants the My Documents folder left as the
Window's default path and a desktop shortcut to
hit H drive.

4. Outlook setup so that the subfolders save
locally but his emails also save on the network.

5. All conversion packs available for Word, etc.

6. SPSS 12 and 16. He can install 16 if necessary,
and we may have problems with licensing for 12 he
warned.

I replaced the machine in his office as requested.
I had nly been running a disk check so he
shouldn't experience any problems from what I did.

He just called from Portlans.  He didn't want his 
machine touched until after he returned on 
Wednesday.  He has some work he needs to do on it 
and he doesn't need either the internet or the 
netowrk to do it.  He would like the machine 
returned now and then touch base with him on

Had in error at the log in screen that said
"Unable to log you on because the netlogon service
is not running".  Logged in as admin and tried to
start the netlogon service but it failed.  Did a
system restore and a reinstall of Client for Microsoft
Networks for the LAN connection but neither fixed
the problem.

All Techs: Please describe "other problems" when

Enabled ATA drives in Bios and the dvd-rom started
working.  Has a few other issues that still need
to be addressed.  Said to call back around 10ish
today.

Called back. He tried a different cable and that 
didn't work either. He said he can meet someone 
anytime tomorrow if they call his cell (503-420-
9077).

It was the DVD Rom and i replaced it with a new
since it was not reading it. After that it still
did not work. So i might be a problem with the
flat cable.

The CD ROM icon is not showing up in "My 
Computer". He hears the cd running in the 
computer but nothing happens. This is the first 
time he has had this happen but he hasn't used 
the cd drive in a long time.
