Hi Kathryn,
I’ve tried many things to get this laptop to
connect to the Internet, but it does not seem to
want to. The Ethernet port (which connects to the
land line) is broken and unresponsive. The
wireless network card at first could not
understand the security protocols used for campus
wireless. We use a password system called WPA2. I
updated the card with the latest drivers for it,
but it still does not stay connecting to the
wireless network. Therefore this laptop has no
Internet or network capability on campus. If used
in a wireless area that does not use WPA2 security
it’s possible to pickup wireless. 
This laptop is at the end of its life cycle. I’ve
provided a VGA cable (it has blue connectors on
each end) so you can connect it to projectors or
external monitors. You can use a USB drive to move
data to it or off of it. You should login with the
local log on, which is:
 	Username: Psych
 	Password: Freud12
I did spend a good amount of time attempting to
get this to work, but the wireless network card
will not stay connected consistently to the WOU
wireless network. If you need further assistance

Audrey,
The Psychology Division's new laptop seems to be
working fine with access to WOU wireless. I was
wondering how things are going with our old laptop
and its wireless connection. Thanks so much for
helping us,

W#20071102[Edit Inv] - Setup with Wireless.

W#20030315[Edit Inv] - On-board RJ45 port is broken (does
not accept Ethernet signals). Wireless could not
be setup because it only allows WEP keys not
WWEP2(or whatever it's called) due to lack of
updates. Had to bring it back to tech area and use
a PCM to Ethernet adapter to get Microsoft
updates. This way it can accept the wireless
security and password.

Audrey,
The laptops are in my office. You can install the
card and help me register today, tomorrow 3-5, and
Thursday after 3. I also do need help registering
because this is the Division's wireless account, I
can not seem to use my log in etc. to register.

I received information on your wireless card for
the Psychology division laptop and can install it
anytime that is convenient for you. If the laptop
is available from someone else (the department's
administrative assistant for example) please let
me know so that I can contact that person.

it at your station If it doesn't work for any

We registered her as the user and show her set up 
for wireless.  So I'm hoping we can just select 
the "WOU secured" enter in the password, 
the "Ihadajadesaleatthelake." and have it be 
ready to go.  I've checked to make sure things 
are good on this end.  :)  Both laptops are paid 
to use wireless.

Audrey I have a wireless card that we can put 
with the older laptop @0030315, we have spares we 
can use for these  older laptops with no 
integrated card we just need to document the Mac 
address in the laptops inventory record

Hi Kathryn,

I am contacting you about a Service Request you
submitted earlier in the month regarding a
Psychology division laptop. Our notes indicate
that you'd planned on contacting Telecom about
setting up a wireless card for the laptop, but we
have no follow-up information on that. Were you
able to order a wireless card for the laptop?
Also, did you purchase wireless for the laptop via
www.wou.edu/wireless? The issues with the laptop's
anti-virus software being out of date can and
should be resolved, but I'd like to know about the
wireless card first in order to avoid
redundancy/wasted time.

Thank you for your assistance with this issue. I
hope to resolve it soon!
