Replaced the actual power cable coming out the
back of the machine.  Solved the problem.  Tried
wiggling it, moving it, pushing it, jarring it,
tugging it: worked fine.  Will keep an eye out and
see if it happens again.

This MAC is located in the first desk as you enter
the lab L2 (the large screen mac).

I tried pulling the box out to check the connect,
but as pulling out the power went off and on and
off.  Firmly reattached all power cords.  When
sliding back in, the power went off.  It appears
to be a bad main power cable to to the machine.
