I went by and helped er. I hoked up Betty's 24"
monitor and switched back to Denise's and that
seemed to fix the issue. I spent about 30 minuets
trying to get the problem to show up again.

I told her that I'd leave this task open in case
this happened again.

You need a replacement today, so she can actually
do her work. She is very stressed and has
deadlines to meet.

both monitors.

turning the computer off and on fixed the problem
before but now this does not seem to work.

I tried various combinations of plugging in both
monitors (18 and 24-inch), including swapping
ports on the video card, all to no avail.
Finally, I could get the 18-inch monitor to work
properly. Even then, if I plugged in both, both
monitors would "blink blue". Finally, I tested a
Mac laptop from the tech area, with the 24-inch
monitor, and it worked fine. Then I tried both
monitors with her Mac, and everything seemed fine.
We still don't know what will happen after the
machine is "woken up". I'll follow up with her
tomorrow.

She just called in and said that someone brought
over a new monitor and she is using the new one
for the first one today. she said that the new
one and the old monitor are still blinking and
she can not figure it out how to make it stop.

she said that she left for lunch and was told
that it was going to take a while to install
something and she came back to her office and she
was gone.

and the old computer number is :

Macintosh, running Mac OS X 10.6. Apparently a
known issue with this update. One possible remedy
would be to revert the OS back to 10.5.4.
