Dean,

You can install the Office Compatibility Pack
yourself.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove
Programs, Add New Programs, and select the
Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office System.

Please let me know if you have problems doing so.

he got an email with an attachment and clicks on 
it and opens it. and it says that since the new 
attachment is a newer version of word and will 
not let him open it because he has an older 
version.

and he cant save it and fax it back to the 
person. he wants to know if it is possible to 
switch the versions so it can work.
